A Breath of Fresh Air

Sometimes I forget the reason why I left in search of something, then I come across a small reminder. Ten minutes drive and I'm at the beach with no-one around for miles. The only people I do see, usually smile and wave as we exchange pleasantries about our dogs, as they try and sniff each others groins or rip each other apart. Whoever is the biggest or smelliest really. Last Sunday I took a walk a couple of hours long. No shoes, space all around me, wind tossing my hair so I can't see a damn thing half the time. And I forgot that a couple of hours with no shoes, doesn't just exfoliate, but wears the feet down to the bone!

I'm wasting my life away.

So it's Monday - and already I hear myself saying only 4 more days left until the weekend. What am I doing wishing my life away? This can't be right. Spending 70 percent of my day, and 70 percent of my week doing something I don't like. Which will mean I spend only 30 percent of my life doing something I like. And that's not even true, because in that 30 percent I have to cook, clean, and other arduous duties which don't inspire me. When you include sleep in this big equation, I'm down to about 10 percent, knock out arguments, stressful times, and I guess I'm left with a couple of percent. What a massive waste of life. How many of us do the same?

National Day of Action to Save the Whales

As a protest against the Japanese whaling program we went to the local protest in Hervey Bay. Many locals turned out in support of the action day both locally and nationally.

Why is this still happening? The arrogance of the Japanese to believe that they can still continue with their whaling program - to what end? They have massive reserves of whale meat as it is.

Perhaps if everyone stopped buying anything Japanese we could cripple their market and bring them to understand that these practices are no longer viable in this world.

A ship called the Sea Shepherd is making it's way to the Japanese trawlers in an effort to stop this happening. The ship has been outlawed and is officially a pirate ship. These guys are prepared to die to help the whales, please show them your effort by going to their website and giving them encouragement. Talk to your friends and help their cause. http://www.seashepherd.org/
